Billy Strayhorn: Lush Life, a documentary by Robert Levi that appeared on PBS's Independent Lens, recently won a 2007 Peabody Award. The film chronicles the life of the great American composer and Duke Ellington collaborator Strayhorn, who was also a successful gay black man at a time when that was incredibly uncommon.
