"Educación Financiera," an animated short from Proyecto Acceso
An innovative effort to teach the poor what they should expect from banking institutions
October 3rd, 2007Posted in
This animated, Spanish-language short is intended to help people in both the United States and Latin American learn the basics of banking that most people take for granted. "Some leading international banks are now moving into Latin America to help create better credit facilities (i.e. they are loaning money out for longer term to higher risk customers)," the Proyecto Acceso website explains. "The consumer needs to learn how to best manage this new vehicle for economic growth and invest in their own futures. But banks and financial institutions need to use the language, idiom, and images of the people they are trying to help." To read a Q&A with James Cooper, the cofounder of Proyecto Acceso, click here.
