  • Seeking Independent Film Trailers (NYC)

    Jambalaya! "The Event for all Artists" is a spectacular promotional and networking event designed to help independent artists in the media and entertainment industry. Named after the spicy Louisiana Creole dish, Jambalaya is meant to promote a variety of independent artists and their work, inviting a grand mixture of artists into the network.

    We are currently seeking Independent Film Trailers to showcase at our next event which is Friday, March 27, 2009. The trailers will be shown on a big screen to an audience in between live performances.

    We offer a fantastic venue and a very supportive audience and will be giving away three slots to Filmmakers that are looking to gain exposure. Please submit though our website at www.JambalayaEvents.com

    I'm looking for a shooter with a JVCHD110 camera
    for an indie educational doc on male child sexual abuse--can pay some, but low budget.
    Great for someone with good lighting /shooting
    skills who is an emerging doc filmmaker, or eager to

  • The Virtual Memory Project

    Call for Submissions
    We are soliciting and collecting short films and videos documenting, describing, or otherwise acknowledging the analog-digital transition for a curated film program to coincide with the analog switch-off in February 2009.

    Criteria :
    * Submitted films don’t have to reference the analog switch-off directly but should be closely related to the themes of :
    – the quirks, pleasures and frustrations of analog technology (film, photography, vinyl, radio, magnetic tape, vacuum tubes, cathode ray television, etc etc)
    – obsolescence (do all technologies have to end ?)
    – digital future (utopia or apocalypse, you tell us)
    – the difference between analog and digital
    – the work of art in the age of digital reproduction, etc, etc
    * All genres accepted - Documentary, Experimental, Narrative and Animation, etc
    * Works may be newly created for the project, or be existing works.
    * Work will be reviewed for thematic content, production quality, and programming viability.

    Submit work by January 23, 2009.

  • Harmony Ridge Film Festival Call for Entries

    Short films of all genres are currently being accepted for the first annual Harmony Ridge Film Festival. Films must be the original work of the submitter and 30 minutes or less in length. Deadline for entries is February 15, 2009, and there is an entry fee of $10.00. The top three films will receive monetary awards and will be publicly screened along with other original works on March 28, 2009, at The Venue at Harmony Ridge in Ambridge, PA.   • Holla Back: Langston Hughes African American Film Festival is Accepting Submissions

    Now Accepting Entries for 2009

    The April 18-26, 2009 Langston Hughes African American Film Festival, an annual presentation of the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center in Seattle, Washington, USA invites independent film entries of any length. Genres/subject areas: narrative, documentary, children's, youth-made movies, shorts, lesbian/gay/trans, animation, experimental.

    Filmmakers do not have to be Black, but films should include a significant amount of content involving people of African descent.

    Films are reviewed by a jury process. Awards include Jury Prize, Audience Award and Local Filmmaker Award

    Please include a postage paid envelope if you want your work returned. All preview copies must be marked with your name and contact information.

    Deadline: January 16, 2009. Please send preview copies in NTSC format on DVD. Films originating in languages other than English must have English subtitles.
