  • New Media Film Festival

    The New Media Film Festival (NMFF) spotlights stories worth telling. We are looking for films that exemplify the power of the cinematic arts to inspire and transform. The festival celebrates innovative and imaginative visual work that can make audiences laugh, cry, think, and go beyond the ordinary.

    In its inaugural year, NMFF will exhibit a selection of both short and long-form works that exhibit a strong personal vision combined with the highest standards of creative excellence and technical achievement. The films will be judged by a jury of notable film executives who will award a $10,000 grand prize of goods and services from Big Vision Studios (http://www.bigvision.com). All finalists also will be viewed by distributors for possible online, theatrical, or broadcast distribution.

    Last but not least, anyone who submits their work to the NMFF will receive FREE producer software ($89 value) from www.ShowBizSoftware.com

  • Johnstown (Pa.) Film Festival call for entries

    The Johnstown Film Festival is issuing a call for entries for its fifth annual event. The festival is a film shorts competition; any original film that is 30 minutes or shorter is eligible.     Now in its second year, the 2010 Talking Pictures Festival will take place on May 7 - 9, 2010. The festival will once again draw audience members from across the northern Chicago metro-area to this annual celebration of independent films from around the world.

    I'm an award-winning songwriter/producer with
    regular placements of my music in major TV and film trailers. I'd like to start doing soundtrack work for film and
    related media and am willing to work on a low budget with
    independent directors/producers on their projects.

  • International CYNETART competition

    Call for Entries for the 14th Festival of computer-based art CYNETART || entry deadline 28.02.2010

    TMA Hellerau hosts this international competition of CYNETART, inviting artists and art groups to present their projects, every two years. They can apply with projects that fully utilise digital technologies in their conceptual, creative and performing processes, thereby opening up opportunities for digital performance and their relationship to factors such as time, space, physical presence and social encounters. An international jury with representatives from well-established media culture institutions and experienced scientists with a background in media art history will decide about the winner of the CYNETART-award and the sponsorship award. It will also decide on the award of the artist-in-residence-grant funded by the Saxon Ministry of Science and the Fine Arts.
