  • California Documentary Project 2009 grant guidelines

    The California Documentary Project (CDP) is a competitive grants program of the California Council for the Humanities in partnership with the Skirball Foundation. CDP supports film, radio and new media projects that document the California experience and explore issues of significance to Californians. Projects must approach subject matter from a humanities perspective and be suitable for California and national audiences.

    CDP grants are offered in the following categories:

  • Production grants for film and radio up to $50,000
  • Production grants for interactive new media projects up to $20,000
  • Research and Development grants for film and radio up to $7,000
  • DEADLINE: October 1, 2009

  • New NEH Deadline for America's Media Makers Grants

    Please excuse cross-postings.

    The Division of Public Programs at the U.S. National Endowment for the Humanities funds radio, television, and digital projects in the humanities that are intended for public audiences.

    New application guidelines are now posted on the NEH Web site (www.neh.gov) for America's Media Makers: Development and Production grants. The next two deadlines are August 26, 2009, and January 13, 2010.

    Program officers in the Division of Public Programs are available to assist you, whether it is to discuss project ideas or to read a draft proposal.   • Need Investor for Short Film Entry in 48 Hour Film Project

    Team for the 48 Hour Film Project loaded with talented cast and crew is in need of financial backing for additional equipment (dolly, lighting, gaff equipment) and catering. Project is being shot on a RED ONE camera. Locations are set in place.
    If interested in helping, please email me directly for more details. I can provide cast and crew list as well as current equipment list. We are in need of approximately $700 for the remainder of our equipment and catering for cast and crew.
    If you or anyone you know has contacts to or interest in investing in the production, we would greatly appreciate the help and would love to give an Associate Producer credit and potentially include some sort of product placement in the short film (T-shirt or other apparel, etc).
    48 Hour Film Project is scheduled to start Friday, June 26th at 6:30pm and ends on Sunday evening at 7:30pm.
    We will be shooting that weekend on Saturday, June 27th.
