    Internship Description:
    The Human Rights Watch International Film Festival intern will assist with the following activities:

    *Assisting in planning and execution of 15-20 high school presentations of documentary films on human rights.

    *Arranging presentations by human rights advocates, and filmmakers in NYC public schools.

    *Researching and providing curriculum and educational resources to teachers seeking to integrate human rights into the classroom, send links to curriculum and HRW reports.

    *Maintaining video library, checking films in and out for teachers. Process requests by teachers for films, application forms, maintain databases and moderate e-mailing list.

    *Distributing and collecting screening contracts, and evaluation forms from teachers and students upon the completion of in-classroom presentations.

    *Suggesting follow up activities (letter writing campaigns, bake sales, human rights awareness events) for students to participate in after screening a film in class.

    *Preparing monthly e-newsletter to keep teachers actively involved in program.

    Description: The International Film Festival Department (“IFF”) in Human Rights Watch’s (“HRW”) New York office is seeking a consultant to manage logistics for both the New York and London International Film Festivals.

    The consultant will be responsible for coordinating film submissions, film selection process, coordinating text and images for the Film Festival program, oversight of Festival interns, and assisting with outreach and other logistical aspects of the Film Festival.     Qualifications: There is significant project overlap so the abilities to prioritize, multitask and work collaboratively are essential.   • DRIVE-IN Film Festival Seeking Volunteers

    The DRIVE-IN Film Festival is a creative not-for-profit organization with a mission to bring fresh innovative films to as many audiences as possible, and highlight the glory of an American tradition--the local Drive-In.

    DIFF will be having a fundraising carnival on Aug. 23, 2008 at Riverside Park-South Lawn, NYC (Riverside and 74th St) from 1-8pm. We are looking for volunteers to help run games, sell raffles, etc. It promises to be a fun day at the park!

Hailed by critics as among the most important and relevant programming on television, P.O.V. films have won every coveted television and film award, including 18 Emmys, 11 George Foster Peabody Awards, eight Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Broadcast Journalism Awards, three Academy Awards, and the Prix Italia.

    We are looking for self-motivated individuals who have excellent communication and writing skills and a keen attention to detail to assist in the areas of production/programming, research and development, community engagement and education, Web, and communications and marketing.     Wolf and Moon Productions is doing a new documentary film on consumer culture and advertising in America with actor Danny Glover and Ed Begley Jr., among others.

    We will be happy to offer compensation and/or a film credit, depending on your contribution.

    A) Three ways you can help:

    1. If you can send specific ad content that matches what we're looking for…
    -We will pay $50-$100 (depending on format – video is more) for EACH photograph/ad clip/TV sample, etc. that we USE in the Film, and you will also receive recognition in the film credits.
