  In 2009 tank.tv will embark on an ambitious series of solo shows. New exhibitions will open online every two weeks before being made available in our growing archive. This programme of solo shows represents an opportunity to examine a plethora of approaches to the moving image whilst allowing in-depth insight into each individual artist’s practice.

  We are pleased to announce that the first artist in this series will be Christoph Rütimann.

  Rütimann’s ‘Handlauf’ series leads us on an endless camera ride through the world. Beijing, Skopje, Spullersee, Piccadilly Circus, Fuerteventura and back.

  Railings and handrails serve as camera tracks in these remarkable and hypnotic works. The special perspective of the rolling camera and the constant view of the ‘tracks’ pulls on the spectators eye as the field of vision is drawn into the camera’s lens. As the central perspective is recreated continuously before being lost and mirrored in the viewer’s eye the soundtrack created by the hard plastic wheels of the camera rattles and rolls.

• The Fresno Production Studio Project

  The Fresno Filmmakers Forum in Fresno, CA (Fresno is cooler than you’d think!) is forming a non-profit organization that will, among other things, build a production facility in Fresno. The goals for The Fresno Production Studio Project are to provide competitive and comprehensive facilities to strengthen the production industry in Fresno by expanding local filmmaking opportunities as well as attracting opportunities from elsewhere. The facility will be flexible enough to be valuable for motion picture, television, and online productions, stadium concert tour rehearsals, photography, and other functions requiring large state-of-the-art studio space.The developing plans of The Fresno Production Studio Project are for a large facility on approximately 4 acres to include a 12,000 sq ft (120’ x 100’ x 30’) stage with an in-floor water tank; a 4,900 sq ft (70’ x 70’ x 25’) audience-rated stage with a hard cyc; production office space; catering and food services; a screening room/99-seat theater; and subsidized retail office space for support services such as grip, expendables, post-production, local production companies, audio services, and casting.Further, the non-profit organization created from Fresno Filmmakers Forum will be committed to the community and the planet. The Fresno Production Studio Project is in development and welcomes comments, suggestions, and expressions of interest.

To their surprise, this minor arrest opens up a violent and bloody hornet’s-nest leading to a huge smuggling operation and a large shipment of cocaine making its way into Boston through the use of coke filled speed-boats being towed to a specific location in Boston. The two investigators work along with DEA agents and others, for a hard take-down and savage confrontation with one of Miami’s most dangerous Columbian Cartel drug-lord.

• The Cave- Bullhead Entertainment- Denver, CO 11/7 6:00PM

  After the painstaking process of stop motion animation and some 4,000 still photographs lit primarily by candlelight, the artists of the film, The Cave, have decided to share the work with as many people as possible. Bullhead Entertainment is partnering with Jaz B Studios in Denver's Art District on Santa Fe to share their love for film and photography by displaying The Cave to the public. Denver's ArtDistrict on Santa Fe is a unique art and cultural district with over 40 galleries, restaurants, and shops located just south of downtown Denver, Colorado. The ArtDistrict opens its doors freely to lively Denver crowds for popular events such as the First Friday Art Walk, held every first Friday of the month and Collectors' Night held every third Friday of the month. The Cave animation was originally produced as the opening for a film that explores the subject of life-after-death. It is a very loose adaptation of Plato's Allegory and asks the audience to be open-minded about reality and the possibilities of life-after-death. Come and be a part of the experience of First Friday at Jaz B Studios. Enjoy a glass of wine in this hip gallery where you will find many different mediums of art.
